This Saturday some friends and I rented a car and drove to Brugge, Belgium. It was really nice to have the freedom of the car, and it allowed us to take the scenic route there. We drove through the coastal towns of Zierikzee, Goes, and Middelburg. Definitely the most water I've seen since being here in Europe. It took about 4 hours to drive there, but on the way back we took a more direct route, so it's really only a 2.5 hour drive. I loved Belgium, and we're already making plans to go back there in the Spring!
Paolo, the driver...
and Louise, second in command...
and the rest of the crew in back with me, Ioanna and her boyfriend Panos...
SO MUCH SEA...
super long bridge...
this was about 2 km before entering Belgium...
we hang out at truck stops...
we also take pictures of truckers...
and, of course, go to Texacos in Belgium...
Brugge!
the car that got us there...
half of my pictures were of doors...
the first of many places we bought chocolate that day...
belgian waffles...
the Christmas market was going on, so the city center was full of people...
tasty glühwein...
Paolo thought it would be funny to photobomb every picture I said "ooooo it's so pretty!" to...
it took Ioanna and Paolo about 45 minutes to decide what they wanted from Godiva...
the prettiest Zara ever...
naked ladies in the square...
this church was huge! and old. and just really, really pretty...
in front of a teddy bear store named 'the bear necessities'...
the restaurant where we ate mussels...
The Christmas decorations made me miss everyone at home, but I am so glad I got the chance to visit Brugge. Miss you all!!
